7ab Erasmus+ trip to Slovenia
Ljubljana city tour and cooking experience with our partner class
Now that we had explored the city's nature and countryside, what remained for us to get to know was the history of the country’s capital and its exceptional cuisine. Luckily, the Slovenian students had prepared a tour through the city of Ljubljana for us!
On Monday, 24th October 22, Our day started by meeting them at Prešeren Square, the central point of the city. We were split into groups of Austrian and Slovenian students and headed to the most important places. We got to see the popular parks of Ljubljana, the congress building, important statues, walked up the hill to the castle and visited the old library, which was our favorite spot.
The National and University Library of Ljubljana, whose archive contains, among other things, a rich collection of medieval manuscripts and prints, is considered as one of the most valuable treasures of Ljubljana's education and history. What we loved about the stunning building is that the windows are distinctly different from other buildings. They appear to be in the shape of an open book.
