BOURNEMOUTH 2025 – A trip to remember
In March 2025, classes 5a and 5b embarked on a language trip to Bournemouth, in Dorset, England. They were accompanied by four teachers: Professors Corrigan, Haider, Müßigang, and Staudegger. As in previous years, the students thoroughly enjoyed immersing themselves in British culture and everyday life.
The diverse and enriching itinerary was made possible thanks to the students’ dedicated fundraising efforts and the generous support of local businesses and institutions. These included Fröschl AG & Co KG, DI A. Galler (VI-Plan ZT-GmbH), Gatt-Koller Pharmazeutika-Chemikalien, the municipalities of Absam and Wattens, the Rotary Club Hall, and the Education Department of the Regional Government of Tyrol.
Both students and teachers extend their heartfelt thanks to the businesses and institutions above for the invaluable support that made this memorable language trip possible.

Text excerpts from our students:
A trip to remember — our unforgettable journey to England
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — that is what our school trip to Southbourne
felt like. For lots of us, it was the first time flying and being away from home.
We stayed with welcoming families, attended language lessons in the mornings and explored places like Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, and Hengistbury Head in the afternoons.
Highlights included visiting Oxford and two exciting trips to London, the first of which was to see the Phantom of the Opera, and the second to explore the city.
We returned home with improved English, new friendships, great memories, and a deeper understanding of British culture.
A special thanks to our English teachers who made this wonderful trip possible.

Hello everyone!
This year, we were the lucky ones who got to be part of an amazing adventure — and we’d love to tell you all about it! Can you imagine how much your English can improve just by living with a host family? Honestly, we couldn’t either... until we experienced it ourselves. By the end of the week, we were fascinated by how much better — and more fluent — our English had become!
Yes, you guessed right. We were in England, but we still had to go to school, but it wasn’t like the school we are used to. We had only one subject and that was English and the teachers focused on letting young people learn and improve their English.
Apart from school, we had a great time with many activities: We went for a walk at Hengistbury Head, played some games at the beach and ate delicious Fish and Chips at the seaside in Bournemouth. In London we visited Big Ben, Tate Modern, a famous museum of modern art, Buckingham Palace and we watched the „Phantom of the Opera “. Oxford was also stunning and we visited the famous colleges of Oxford University. Of course, we had free time everywhere to go shopping and explore places on our own. On the last day a few of us went even swimming in the sea. The water was freezing cold but it was worth it!
This was a great experience, and we would love to do it again.
